Interactive 3D PDFs are one of the most effective ways to put your models in front of clients, regulators, and legal teams: they open in the free Adobe Reader, sit right inside the report, and need no special software. Starting today, the 3D PDF Converter is licensed as a company-wide add-on to Earth Volumetric Studio, so everyone on your team who builds a model can deliver it as a 3D PDF. And for nearly every customer, it now costs less than before.
What’s Changing
Until now, the 3D PDF Converter was sold as a per-workstation (CPU Locked) license at $1,000 per year, or as an add-on for Enterprise License customers. That meant deciding in advance which machines would produce 3D PDFs, and moving licenses around when projects or people changed.
That model is retired. The 3D PDF Converter is now a single add-on to your Earth Volumetric Studio subscription that covers your whole organization.
Everyone who models can publish: The add-on covers every licensed EVS user in your organization. Whoever builds the model can hand the client or regulator a 3D PDF, without waiting on the one machine that has the license.
One subscription, one renewal: The add-on rides on your EVS subscription and renews with it. No separate license terms, dongles, or workstation assignments to track.
New Pricing
Enterprise License Program: 10% of your annual Enterprise subscription rate, down from 15%. Customers who also add the Hosted C Tech Web Scene Viewer receive a further 5% discount.
Fixed and Floating Licenses: 12% of your organization’s total annual Earth Volumetric Studio subscription, covering all of your EVS users instead of a single workstation. For a single Fixed license, that is less than the former $1,000 per-workstation price, and less still for customers on transitional subscription pricing.
University Initiative: 10% of your annual University subscription.
Full details: The updated Enterprise pricing table, effective September 10, 2026, is on the Price List.
The add-on requires an active Earth Volumetric Studio subscription. Like EVS, it includes all software updates and technical support for the term.
What This Means for Existing Customers
If you already license the 3D PDF Converter, nothing changes today. Your current license keeps working exactly as it does now. With the upcoming releases of Earth Volumetric Studio and the 3D PDF Converter later this year, which move to online licensing through your C Tech account, your 3D PDF Converter license becomes company-wide automatically: every EVS user in your organization will be able to use it, with nothing extra to install or activate.
At your next renewal, your 3D PDF Converter license is renewed as the company-wide add-on at the new pricing. For nearly all customers that renewal costs less than before: Enterprise customers drop from 15% to 10%, and Fixed license customers pay less than the former $1,000 per-workstation price.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still buy a single-workstation 3D PDF Converter license? No. The CPU Locked license is no longer offered. The 3D PDF Converter is available only as a company-wide add-on to an Earth Volumetric Studio subscription.
Do I need Earth Volumetric Studio to use the 3D PDF Converter? Yes. The converter works from .evspdf files created by Earth Volumetric Studio, and the add-on is licensed on top of your EVS subscription. It runs wherever your team is licensed for EVS.
Who in my organization can use it? Every user licensed for Earth Volumetric Studio in your organization, once you’re on the upcoming releases of EVS and the 3D PDF Converter.
When does my add-on renew? With your Earth Volumetric Studio subscription. It shares the same term, so you have one renewal date for both.
How do I add the 3D PDF Converter to my subscription? Email sales@ctech.com and we’ll add it to your current term.
