Environmental Data

Environmental data is complex: soil contaminant concentrations spanning six or more orders of magnitude, boring logs with dozens of material types, geophysical surveys, aerial imagery, and monitoring data collected over years. Earth Volumetric Studio transforms this raw data into defensible 3D volumetric models, integrating every data type into a single platform so your team can characterize sites, plan remediation, and communicate results with confidence.

Data In, Decisions Out

Soil & Groundwater Analytical Data — Import analytical results from laboratory reports or EDD formats. Studio’s expert-system-driven geostatistics handle the extreme gradients typical of environmental data, building defensible plume models even when concentrations range from parts per trillion to percent levels.

Boring Logs & Geologic Data — Build 3D geologic models from lithologic descriptions, SPT blow counts, grain size analyses, and other borehole data. Studio’s stratigraphic and lithologic modeling capabilities turn sparse boring data into continuous subsurface models that form the framework for contaminant analysis.

Geophysical Surveys — Integrate electrical resistivity tomography, ground penetrating radar, electromagnetic surveys, and other geophysical data into your site models. Combine geophysical results with traditional sampling data for a more complete picture of subsurface conditions.

Time-Series & 4D Monitoring — Track how contamination changes over time with Studio’s 4D animation capabilities. Import monitoring data from multiple sampling events to visualize plume migration, evaluate remediation progress, and determine when monitoring wells can be retired.

Painting facility — TOTHC contamination modeled with orthogonal fence diagrams through site geology, animated over multiple time steps. Rotate, zoom, and double-click to probe data. View more examples →

From Raw Data to Complete Site Models

Studio integrates all of your environmental data into a single coherent model: no manual data transfers, no separate tools, no drawing. The models are entirely data-driven: geostatistics determine the nature, quality, and level of refinement in the model, while the modeler controls the process through analytical choices rather than CAD-style drawing. The result is a defensible model backed by quantifiable statistics.

GIS & Aerial Imagery — Overlay aerial photographs, topographic data, site boundaries, and GIS layers to provide geographic context. Studio supports import of shapefiles, DXF/DWG files, and georeferenced imagery.

CAD & Infrastructure — Incorporate 3D building models, underground utilities, tanks, and other site infrastructure. These annotations provide context without influencing the data-driven contaminant or geologic models.
